A research promotion committee is constituted to look after the various fee concessions and expenditures incurred in research process for the benefit faculty and students. The faculty also participates in orientation and refresher courses being organized by Academic Staff Colleges running under the aegis of UGC. The college encourages faculty for participation in all such programmes. A committee of staff members is constituted to look into the general development of library and to impart suggestions about the purchase of books and journals etc.
To obtain larger share the college is submitting proposal for its accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore an autonomous body constituted by University Grants Commission. It is the maximum possible grants from UGC during XIth five year plan.

Almost all educationists advocate the over-hauling of the present system of education. This over-hauling is possible through original researches on different aspects of Science, Commerce and Arts. The college is providing adequate infra-structural facilities for the purpose and at present approximately 600 research scholars are working in various departments. The results obtained are being published in various magazines, newspapers and national and international journals of repute.
The college management is providing the required facilities for consultancy and extension activities to the campus. The teachers attend various seminars, symposia and conferences for presenting their research papers in different fields. To encourage further academic development of the college the administration also provides financial assistance for attending these programmes. It was only on the basis of research that the college obtained assistance from UGC for development of its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes during XI plan period.The Following grants were sanctioned by UGC:
